better to have two birds in the sky than one tool in the shed

arrow bazooka – sean reid

James and i would often make the things that we thought might be cool to make. one of those things was a pneumatic arrow launcher. We – mostly james – built this thing that was essentially a tube connected to a valve connected to an airline connected to an air tank, so you could release all the pressure in the airtank into the tube all at once. it was rad. we fired it very few times because of how absurdly powerful and janky it was. the first or second shot flew about 200 feet into a filed in the adjacent orchard. we spent at least 2 hours looking for the arrow, finally finding it dangerously far from where we had fired it. due primarly to being too cool to exist in this world, the arrow bazooka had to be decommissioned.
